U.S. Kids Golf Local Tours provide boys and girls the opportunity to advance their golf
experience in age-appropriate competition. At the Local Tour level, kids can gain their first exposure to competitive golf, meet new friends, and learn valuable life lessons.
The player-caddie relationship is important at every level of competition, and it’s even more special
when the caddie is the player’s parent. A parent caddie is the perfect example of the U.S. Kids Golf
mission – encouraging family interaction that builds lasting memories. We believe the parents’ role is
crucial to developing young players. Local Tour Directors should encourage parents to caddie for their
kids and use the parent resources available on our website.
One of these resources is our partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). This organization
provides vital information in the role of parenting young athletes. All parents, and especially those
who caddie, are strongly encouraged to complete the 2nd Goal Parent PCA course online. U.S. Kids
Golf provides a discount code for the course. Vist www.uskidsgolf.com/pca
Priority Status is a tournament invitation system based on order of finish at U.S. Kids Golf
Tournaments. Players must also meet the USKG Scoring Requirement for their age group.
Invitations to Championship Events are based on a player’s level of Priority Status. For more
information on which level of Priority Status a player will earn in an event, please visit:
The World Championship is the pinnacle event for young golfers,
ages 5 to 12. Each year since 2005, Pinehurst and the surrounding
community have played host to over 1500 golfers from more
than 50 countries. The week-long experience includes a Parent/
Child tournament, Team Challenge, Parade of Nations, Honda
Skills Experience, three rounds of tournament play, the Closing
Ceremony and the World Van Horn Cup at Pinehurst No. 2.
